Di ako makatulog kagabi. E d napuyat n naman lola nyo. Ano ginawa? Nag-research!
Ay jusmio. Bakit? Dahil sa Quezon City (QC) daw... #FindingMayor! Hmmm.
Bakit may nawawalang mayors? Kasi masyadong ginalingan ng tatlong mayor na'to. Trending ang meme nila.
So napaisip ako ngayon.
(Wag nyo ako gagayahin.) Pero in fairness mas ok na for me si Joy Belmonte kesa kay Bingbong Crisologo.
Bakit 'kaniyo?
Ganern.
Well pwede naman nagbago na siya kasi nakulong at naging relihiyoso daw pero for me mas okay pa rin ako sa ibang kandidato kesa kahit kaninong sangkot sa mga krimen ng rehimeng Marcos.
Ehem. Going back to the topic...
So sige d matahimik brain ko.
๐ Check it awt! ๐

If you are not familiar with Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso's history, read some excerpts below:
“At 10 years old na-realize ko na na mahirap kami,” Isko told the current affairs program Pipol in 2012. “Kasi wala kaming Atari, wala kaming Game & Watch, yung kapitbahay namin may Betamax na.” It was not an easy life, and his father didn’t always have a job. “Sa araw araw na ginawa ng Diyos, mamimili ka lang: yung mamatay na dilat ang mata o mamatay na may hepa.” Hence, the young Isko needed to hustle. To put food on the table, he would collect pagpag, or discarded food. Sometimes they would sell pagpag to their neighbors for extra income.
There was a time his classmates would make fun of him in school for being a garbage collector.
Moreno first caught the attention of the public as an actor. He starred in teenybopper films before doing more mature roles under Seiko Films.
He says the decision to run for public office happened more because he felt the desire to give back—to return the blessings he had been given during his years in the limelight. Having only finished high school, Moreno admits an initial ignorance of the exact function and responsibilities of a councilor, but an intense desire to learn the ropes—and to actually take politics so seriously that he was willing to quit showbiz altogether—set him apart from many other actors-turned-politicians.
(As a teen) He attended a wake in Tondo just for the free refreshments, but he was spotted by starmaker Daddie Wowie Roxas. He stood out from among the mourners with his high-bridged nose, thick brows, and innocent smile.
From there, he was whisked to stand before the cameras with the master showman himself German Moreno in his variety show, That’s EntertainmentThe young Moreno lived his most difficult days as a firebrand legislator in the city council. Despite ranking high in the polls, his fellow officials looked down on him. Then a mere high school graduate, Isko Moreno, they said, was only an actor who could barely keep up with the council.
Then-vice mayor Danny Lacuna stood as his mentor, encouraging Moreno to study as he labored in the council. In 2003, Moreno obtained his business administration degree from the Makati-based International Academy of Management and Economics.

Out of the four, I had to do the most research on her because there aren't much info on her background online. And I really wanted to find out about our city mayor because I don't really know her at all.
Here's some of what I found out.
Maria Josefina “Joy” Belmonte - Alimurung , the youngest and only girl among the four children of the late newspaper publisher Betty Go-Belmonte and veteran statesman Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte—growing up amid very strong values of compassion, service and love for God and nation in action, instilled in her the significance of reaching out to others and making a difference.
"I had a childhood where that was my concept of a woman—a woman who is working and a woman who is working for the country, and a woman that is equal of a man."
"Then in college, I took up Social Sciences—a combination of Anthropology, Sociology and some Political Science. There I joined many organizations that were socially-oriented. I was also the president of my class in Ateneo but not very active in the Student Council—but more of the orgs.
After college, it was very natural to me to have this desire to give back because I had this feeling in my heart that I’ve had such a privileged childhood having parents like my parents. I had a very good education, with all of the opportunities in life available to me, and that’s why I wanted to give back."
When Joy was in high school she wanted to be a politician, so she ran and won as the 1st student council president at the Poveda, an exclusive girls’ school. One of her projects was to pave the driveway. The joke was, “High school pa lang, nagpapasemento na si Joy.”
She signed up for the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines (JVP) program and and taught world history, values education, PE and music. Her students were children of farmers.
“If there’s anything I learned from having worked in social development and the NGO sector for a very long time, it is that one can do so much more when one is in a position of power. Power allows us to allocate resources strategically towards goals that would benefit far more people.
- "I wanted to do an excavation in Manila because it was the seat of the cradle of civilization in Luzon as you remember when Legazpi went to Manila and talked about Rajah Sulaiman which proof that there were a community of Filipinos adopting the Muslim culture back then. I wanted to do a study and decided to line up in City Hall to see the Mayor. After several hours I wasn’t able to see the mayor or anyone from City Hall. I realize then and there that maybe in order to make things happen I should be in a position where I can make a decision that is important to the lives of the people."
- She said that although she has no experience serving in an elected position (for 2010 vice mayor post), she has already served many years in public service, through several non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Concern for the plight of the poor, therefore, is inherent in her, Joy said. Belmonte further noted that her NGO experience makes her more effective than a politician in poverty alleviation.

Get to know more about who Mayor Victor Marรญa Regis "Vico" Nubla Sotto is before becoming a government official.
“I (mom Coney Reyes) surrendered my life to God on Oct. 29, 1990, and soon after that, I knew I needed to end things with Vic (Sotto),” she tells me in an interview last Friday.
It wasn’t an easy decision, but Coney knew it was the right thing to do, if she was to do right by her children. “How can I make my children obey me if not everything was right in my life?” At the time, Coney’s marriage to her first husband had already been annulled, but Vic’s own marriage (to actress Dina Bonnevie) had not.“When he was younger, he wanted to do an outreach for his birthday. It wasn’t the regular party for an orphanage. He would go and find out what they needed, then we would go and buy it and bring it to them on his birthday—quietly, and without fanfare.”
In parent-teacher conferences in his elementary years, his teachers would often tell Coney that Vico was a different kind of leader. When asked to elaborate, his teachers said, “His classmates like to go to him and seek his help, but he never calls attention to himself.”
The only son of Filipino showbiz icons Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes (he has a total of 5 half siblings), it is safe to say that Vico is used to the attention but it is one that he is not necessarily comfortable with.
As a young boy, Vico recalled, “When I was younger, I would freeze when people spoke to me.”He explained, “Ever since I was a kid, government service ‘na yung interest ko, I recall being extremely interested in the impeachment trial in 2001 to the point that my friends teased me about it.”
- Recalled mom Coney, “He was always doing something — reading, writing, biking, playing with his legos and board games, doing jigsaw puzzles. We would have our dates at the mall and people would come up to me for pictures and Vico would quietly go to the side and wait for me to finish. Oh yes, he was painfully shy; he never called attention to himself.
“I would read to him every night before hewent to sleep, mostly classics and Bible stories like David and Goliath, Moses, Samuel Joseph and stories about Jesus. I had to buy some small books when I traveled because he would ask me to read as many as five books or six books, or three small ones when I was really tired or sleepy."
- “I always wanted to work in government,” said Vico, “not necessarily to run but government work in general.”
- ...On March 20, 2016, Vico revealed that it was his maternal brother LA who inspired him to pursue this dream.
Vico wrote a lengthy post about this in his birthday greeting to his brother.
He revealed,"Why did I become interested in government service?
"Kuya LA is my role model. Growing up, I would always just copy everything about him.
"And it was through Kuya that I was first exposed to the ideas of GOVERNANCE and POLITICS.
- His great grandfather Filemon Sotto served as a councilor and municipal vice president of then Cebu town. He also became the congressman of Cebu's 3rd District from 1907 to 1916 and joined the Senate from 1916 to 1922.
Filemon's brother Vicente Sotto was Cebu town's councilor in 1902. He became the mayor in 1907. He later became a part of the Congress.

Well, Mayor Johnielle Keith "Kit" Pasion Nieto has very little past interviews online or articles abt him so these are all I found.
Nieto was admitted to the bar on March 15, 1994, Roll No. 39119.
One of six siblings. Parents are both doctors; his mom was an undersecretary of the Department of Health.
"...I became the president of our modest village comprised of more than 3,000 people (Filinvest East Subdivision for 14 yrs). I started at the age of 31. Tried to bring this particular subdivision to the map of Cainta by bringing in all the facilities na kailangan sa lugar namin. I earned the respect of the people there until such time that I was invited to join the LGU and I was exposed to the other side of town kung san nakilala ko na po ang iba't ibang klase ng mga tao at iba ibang uri ng problema."
No known relative in the government when he ran for mayor in 2013.

So What Can We Learn From All of the Above?
Tingin nyo, importante ba ang edukasyon o di kaya leadership training? Also, is this the right behavior of a public servant? Fanning the trolls huh?
Anyway, I hope you learned something from my post today.
It's better to spread progress rather than negativity in this time of crisis.
Let me leave you with some handwashing instructions. Hehehe.
