Since then I have been striving to better my situation and upon reading and hearing about other people's experiences I started to do some tithing and such whenever I had extra money. It looks like upon doing it, I feel like more good things suddenly happen out of the blue. Maybe I am just making a mountain out of a molehill but that's how it feels like when I tithe.
Giving alms to street children and beggars is not something I like to do for I do not want to encourage what they are doing so I have been tithing periodically to two churches near where I live instead. Now I am thinking of other ways to share my blessings. Hey I just like to diversify this way. Lol. I don't have a lot to share but I am happy to donate what I can. Popular or mainstream charities are not my thing so I always look for something that for me is a worthy cause.
Let me share two choices I found which you can also help out this month by donation:
1 Philippine Pet Birth Control Center Foundation (PPBCC)
If you love cats (like me) or dogs then this is one of the best charity for you. PPBCC is an advocate of neutering, locally termed as kapon, which in turn leads to the eradication of rabies and lessening of animal abuse.
The Philippines, being a third world country, is still not fully aware of being responsible pet owners. Aside from that, a lot of stray cats and dogs abound in the city and provinces. This is how the foundation brings to the general public the importance of neutering by having periodic city and provincial neutering drives across the country. With donations they are able to do free spayings in different areas of the Philippines. You can sponsor an event anywhere in the country by contacting them.
They are actually doing a Spay Day today and tomorrow so if you are within Metro Manila and you want to join tomorrow you can get in touch thru their Facebook page or directly thru their website.
2 Bamboo Organ Foundation Inc.
Did you know that the Las Piñas Bamboo Organ is the only known largest and oldest bamboo organ existing in the world today? It was declared as a National Cultural Treasure in 2003 by the National Museum of the Philippines, but have you ever heard it played or have you even seen it? If not, then you are just like me!
According to their Facebook page:
The Bamboo Organ Foundation, Inc., is a non stock, non profit organization that was founded to preserve and maintain the historic Bamboo Organ.

The best thing about this instrument is its organ pipes are made mostly of bamboo and it is almost 200-years old! Wow. This was completed in 1824.
If wonderful paintings can be admired in museums, this unique musical instrument (bamboo organ) is best admired by being heard. Don't you think this is worth conserving for the future local and international generation to hear?
Over the years there's been several articles online about the dwindling sponsorship of this musical heritage. Currently the bulk of the foundation funds is coming from the sustaining members donating P5,000 (less than US$100) annually. They usually need 100 sustaining members but recently there is only around 70! This is one reason why I am bringing this foundation to your attention today.
Sponsorship packages are available for anyone willing to help out more than the minimum P5k. If you can go to expensive or international concerts, this should be chicken feed for you. wink wink
The 43rd International Bamboo Organ Festival is being held from February 22 to 28, 2018. Check out their schedule below.
This may be quite a late notice but I just found out about this early this month so I guess if you can donate until the end of the month it might be better. Or you can contact them directly for more info regarding the donation time frame, if there is any. I got their BDO bank account by calling them so anyone looking to share P5,000 you are welcome to contact the Foundation Secretariat at tel. nos. (02) 820-0795 and (02) 825-7190 or email address: bambooorganfoundation(at)gmail(dot)com.
To donate from outside the Philippines, pls check the Give2Asia site.

I tried to go there last night but didn't make it in time so I will be going this Sunday instead, fingers crossed. :) Who wants to go with me? Lol.
So do you think these are also worthy foundations to help out? What other foundations do you donate to? Feel free to share in the comments.
